Lab Rats premieres tonight on Disney XD and, in honor of the occasion, we got some of the cast (Billy Unger and Kelli Berglund) to dish on their characters’ super powers AND behind-the-scenes secrets from the set! So join the lab rats tonight at 8:30 pm ET/PT—and in the meantime, read up!

BOP&TB: Can you tell us about your characters?

Billy: I play the character Chase. Chase is the brains of the lab rats. He’s kind of the one, when they’re in a bind—during a mission or even in life—who lays out the plan and says, “This is what we’re going to do, now let’s make it happen.” He’s the leader, and he’s the super intelligent one, so a lot of times it’s up to him to decide what they’re going to do. He has to make it happen. … [He also] has super bionic senses, which means he can see and hear conversations from across the room. Also, he is very athletic. He is a martial artist. He can do kicks, he can do flips, he can punch.

Kelli: My character Bri is a super bionic girl. … She has the ability of super speed and super agility. When she gets out in the real world and has to experience things like a real girl would, she’s definitely a little insecure. She’s lived with her bionic brothers so she’s a very tough girl, but she doesn’t know what it’s like to live in the real world. So when she has to deal with boys, classes and other girls, it kind of frazzles her a little bit. She has to get used to that and she has a funny way of doing it. She’s very outgoing and she just tries her best to be the normal girl.

BOP&TB: Do you have any behind-the-scenes secrets or funny stories for our readers?

Billy: So, we were filming the pilot and it was the very first day of filming. … Everyone was here, but no one really knew each other all that well yet. We’re all rehearsing a scene and the director asks me to do a flip because the scene called for me to do a flip. I do the flip and he asks me to do it one more time, so I do. Then he says, “One more time,” and I’m like, OK I’ve done this 2 or 3 times, I’ve got this. I go and do the flip, and then when I land, there was this big ripping noise. I looked down and my pants were ripped open from end to end. Everyone was standing there watching me. I had to walk around with a towel around my waist for the rest of the day because wardrobe wasn’t there; it was just a rehearsal day. That was embarrassing but I think it was funny too, and it probably broke the ice.

Kelli: Yeah, there have been some funny stories on set. We like to pull pranks on each other every once and a while, even on the crew sometimes. There was one time during rehearsal [when] they were rehearsing a scene with our show parents. So, us kids were just running around doing whatever. Spencer thought it would be a funny joke if we turned off all the lights on the set, and we were like, “I don’t know if we should do that.” We saw something that said “House Lights,” and Spencer was like, “Oh, what does this do?” He turned them off, it was pitch black in here, and we ran out. It was one of the funniest stories on set that we’ve ever had.
